Elephants!

I got the kids to do a count for me last time they came, and I have 72 so far, largest being 3 foot high, smallest being an ivory carving of a family group.

...............and that's just for starters! :oops:

I've got a collection of starts of collections. Does that count?

A couple or three porcelain dolls;
a pucklie of South Western silver rings;
a miniature clock (that collection died a death - couldn't persuade the kids to add to it!);
a few watches (must start a collection of watch batteries!);
the blue patterned jars from Boots' that you get Choklit Gingers in at Christmas (got a few of them);
and my pride and joy- a shed filled to the roof with empty cardboard boxes!

I collect Swarovski crystal animals. I also love carved wooden animals.

Many wooden animals have been brought to me from all over the world.

The oldest wooden one I have is an elephant that got bombed and had its trunk blown of plus his tusks getting lost.
It was sent over from Burma during WW2 when my brother was sent to there.
It was 1942 when it got damaged while still in the wrapping. That makes it 63 yers old this year.
My father glued the trunk back on and I bought two necklaces with nacre tusks which my hubby glued in.
To look at it you would never believe what the poor sod went through

It stands about a foot high with an upturned trunk that has a man balancing on it that can be twirled round.
Children are fascinated with it.
I love it.

Frogs - at the last count 120something. But I always say that I don't collect frogs - other people collect them for me. It started when my boys were youngsters and we had a couple of live ones and I bought a couple of cheap ornamental ones. Once people think you are collecting something it just happens.

Husband 1 was a drinker with a temper (he was quite useful when sober)
Husband 2 ran off with a younger model (the most energetic thing he ever did)
Husband 3 is still here 'cos nobody else will have him and he's definately NOT ornamental :evil:

Why oh why do we do it Deja - I have also collected husbands but stopped at No. 2 who couldn't keep his pants on, poor thing! I know I like wedding cake but I have heard you can buy it in the bakers nowadays1 :twisted:

I bet the two pound coin collecting counts for you Flossy when they are all totted up.

My hairdresser collects them too and saves them for her holidays.
I always know when she is ready to go because there are more two pound coins about again.
