Keeping my hands going.

I have been doing a bit of knitting and using my stash of yarn up in between getting the book sorted out just to keep my hands going. These will go to any needy charity.

The pink set is in Aran weight yarn
and the blue set is double knitting.

My daughter and son-in-law are taking Jade to Frankfurt in December to meet up with Chris' sister and her family so I have been going through my stock of wool (7 large bags full !!) to make some beanies, mittens and scarves for the three of them since December in Germany will be far different from December in Sydney ! Chris has let it be known that he would love a beanie with earflaps so it looks as though I will be going through all my pattern books today.

I hope you have some luck in finding what you want. If not let me know and I will have a looksee through my patterns.
By the way did I mention that a well known authoress contacted me because she is writing a book about WW2 and wanted some patterns from that era.
Anyway her publishers contacted me and asked me if they could borrow my 1940s knitting book to take some images from it because if taken straight from the book the pictures DO NOT lose their clarity as they would with e-mailing them on.

Had an e-mail thanking me for it and saying they will guard it with their lives because I told them it was valuable to me.
NOT moneywise but sentimental value.

They are lovely Maisie.
I haven't knitted for a while - went right off it when I had shingles, and couldn't be bothered.

I have started a baby blanket - one where you start with 1 stich and it knits on the diagonal. Think I might have my knitting mojo back.

I get like that at times Mazzy. NOT wanting to knit I mean.
In fact I never picked up any knitting for five years and it was only when I broke my hip and arm and was back home recuperating when I started knitting again to get my arm going and strengthening my wrist.
The main problem now is sewing the darn things up and I cant do anything intricate because of getting the cramp and having to drop the garment I am knitting.

Many thanks for the offer, Maisie, but I found several patterns which will be ideal. I also found a pattern for a hood combined with a scarf which will be just the thing for Kelly.
