Lovely, Monika! The poppies make me think of Georgia O'Keefe while the general style is quite 'Monet', isn't it? I love it, anyway.

Thanks, Andere. :ithanku:

I'm quite happy with this picture but I could go on tweaking it little by little, possibly, for ages to come; every time I look at it I see something I could alter - so- I've had to determine to stop and stay stopped! It is only my second attempt at acrylics so far and it is so forgiving that I'm planning to do my next picture in the medium too.

I never know whether to put my finished pictures on here or not, but I do know that some people like to see them. Myself, I like nothing better than to go round the art group when we meet to see what everyone else is up to, to admire other's work.

Thanks deja .......................... my husband likes this picture and when we were in the dining room yesterday and I had just finished it, he said, "You're really improving , they're (pointing to two watercolours of mine which aren't at all bad in my opinion) rubbish now"!

I really have to laugh about it - it's priceless coming from someone who has a job even to draw a straight line.

Hi yall ................. another Art Exhibition here tomorrow and I am putting in two previous that I have exhibited before: Marilyn and the Kitten.

My new ones are the poppies that I put on this thread earlier and three new ones (see if you like them).

The first one I have called "The Miner" (his name is Roy Lynk in actual fact and is retired. I don't know if he is still alive but I hope so).
The second is one of Kirk Douglas which I've painted in acrylics in an attempt to aping Andy Warhol's style.
The third is of Joanna Lumley and I only finished it this lunchtime and framed it this afternoon.

I'll let you know if I sold any but not very likely.

Wow, they are really good. Hope the exhibition goes well.

If I were Joanna Lumley I would be well pleased. You have captured her very well.

Joanna Lumley is such a beauty, you have "caught " her very well. They are all very good indeed, the miner looks as if he should be on a billboard and Kirk Douglas is instantly recognisable.

Good luck Monika, you are very talented.

Well .............. it was another poor day for selling our art works. It wasn't a bad day for visitors to the exhibition; we had plenty, but out of over 250 pictures we only sold around ten (and I bought two of them for a change for my sitting room).

Although I had no sales, I won the best drawing in the show (for my miner) ... so. .............. at the AGM in May, I shall be presented with the trophy which I keep for the year.

My great niece (9) came with her mum and my sister and won stacks of tombola prizes, to her great delight and I gave her my kitten picture which she had fallen in love with, so, I'm happy about that as I'm running out of room to keep the growing number.

Next show will be in November at the Craft Fair.

Well done on your win, Monika - I love all of these pictures. It's a great skill, being able to reproduce someone's features and expressions with a pencil and/or a paintbrush and I'm quite sure I'd recognise Roy Lynk if I met him in the street! Shame your group didn't sell more but I suppose times is 'ard and original artwork is the kind of thing people cut back on.

I think Andere is right, times is 'ard. Don't lose heart Monika, they are all as good (and better) than some I have seen.
