Thanks for all your encouragement, everyone.

I'm not sure that they will sell and daren't hold my breath, but I'll let you know tomorrow.

Just been perusing the website Monika while waiting for a weekly tablet to work and I am NO expert concerning paintings or anything in at line and they are all very good to me but the one of Marylin Monroe is in my opinion absolutely stunning.

Thanks, Maisie. Marilyn got much praise from so many people yesterday, I was really pleased (but do feel slightly embarrassed)

However, nobody liked it enough to buy it. I was asking £30 for it, in a nice pewter coloured frame but no takers. The last time we had an exhibition I had done a Kirk Douglas and another member of the art group bought it ( I wanted £25 for that one which wasn't quite as big as Marilyn.)

One other massive boost to my confidence ...................... my son went along in the morning (no-one knows him there) and he heard some folks talking and saying that my portraits are better than Steve's and Steve is a professional artist.

That must have really bucked you up Monika. I DID say BUCKED.

Have you tried selling it to any collectors of Marylin Monroe posters.?
Have a look here....................

Look for more on the net.
Good Luck.

Your pictures are lovely Monika. Don't be disheartened because folk don't have so much money at the moment, and it might sell another time.

Wee one likes Marylin, but she can draw as well.

Hi Monsy ........ thanks x.

If "the wee one" is good at drawing, please encourage her to do more. I'm 77 now and, although I used to do a lot of this when I was younger and did it for about 25 years or so, I stopped around 45 (age) and didn't start again until about 2-3 years ago, and I SO REGRET IT. I think I could have been really good by now.

Looking at your work Monika I don't think there is any doubt that you would have been really good by now!
I think your work is excellent and wish I had your talent.

I've been busy again ................................

We were given the picture of Marilyn to copy in a competition at the Art Group .................... guess who won?

The other one I have copied from an oil painting by Roger Bolzenello. I've done it in acrylics on canvas and I'm quite pleased with the result but it still needs a bit of tweaking on the meadow.

You are very talented Monika. I love them both, but Marilyn is striking.
