Thanks, deja.

I've never painted an animal before, so I'm pleased with the way it's turned out ................. so much so, I'm going to attempt a Welsh corgi next.

Smashing, Monika! I've always envied people who can draw and paint. I especially love the bright, fresh green of your trees - really makes me think of spring.

I could almost smell the bluebells, and kitty was looking straight at me.

Wish I could do that - they are lovely.

Thanks very much for your comments, mazzy and Andere. I would have liked to have posted them in entirety and, although I resized them to put them here, it didn't work out as expected.

I've been good at drawing faces ever since I can remember, but until I joined the local art group (about 2 and a half years ago) I hadn't done very much painting at all. I think I've come on leaps and bounds since joining so, I think you should both have a go yourselves, you might surprise yourselves. Get a good photograph of something you like the looks of and give it a go ................... it's only copying after all. :sunglasses:

I did just about manage O level Art...think they were having a benevolent marking day.

I was on a course a while back and we were told we had to fill a large page with a drawing...anything we wanted. We all groaned but she said that we were to draw using the 'wrong' hand. I have never been able to write my name or anything with my left hand, but there we were, with crayons, pens, glitter- all sorts.

The freedom that came from nt expecting it to be good was amazing, and everyones efforts were so much better than expected. She said to remember that if ever you were drawing with your 'right' hand. It was only you holding yourself back.

I suspect I'm beyond hope - I've never met anyone else who actually failed art O-level but I did! I have done the 'wrong' hand thing. I'm left handed and, while I was at school, injured my left hand so had to spend several months using the one on the right for drawing, writing, eating, everything. Strangely, my writing is quite good with the 'wrong' hand (although totally different in appearance from my normal writing) but drawing was hopeless - the charcoal just wandered all over he paper, completely uncontrolled and uncontrollable.
