I bought a stack of card making stuff on a whim, one day- intending to DO something with them.

But when my 5year old grand-daughter was producing better looking stuff than me, I just bunged it in a cupboard- and she plays with it when she comes!

Actually I have heard of a couple of people doing that, and now that the grandchildren are older, thanks to their grandparents, they are actually making a living out of it!

I like doing parchment cards, have all the equipment and have done quite alot of it through the years, trouble is since I got on the computer I choose to do that and card-making has got neglected.

I had never heard of parchment cards, until just recently.
I have now seen some nice ones.
I do a bit of 3d decoupage.

I never realised that there is a magazine for card makers until I saw one in Asda yesterday.

I got some samples of cards through the door. The idea was you had to send off for an introduction pack and then get more for £7 a month!

The address was Swindon, which is the headquarters of all these book clubs. Needless to say I didn't take up the offer. However, I kept the cards on the grounds that they were unsolicited mail!

I'm afraid I haven't the time or the patience, to turn out such lovely cards as you do, Liz.

Our local stationery store is selling more and more bits and pieces for card making. I am slowly collecting fancy hole punches and sticky ribbons - one day I will use them.....probably!

There are a few card making magazines about, Monsy.
I know, because I was trying to find one for beginners a short while ago.

My eldest daughter just loves shopping, not the food kind though, the fashion kind, so as her birthday is coming up I have made her this card.
Its the first time I have tried anything like this, so I am hoping she likes it.

I used rubber stamps to do the printing which I did straight onto velum, then I embossed them, and I just used peel off's for the pictures.

I am not a card maker but my granddaughter made this one for our 56th wedding anniversary. She got our wedding photo and worked round it.
She has made some lovely cards for special occasions.
The black and white photo has not come out well through the scanner but it will give you an idea of the card which I thought was lovely, but then I am biased.

Being a shopoholic, your daughter should really love that card, Liz.

I don't really have the time to make the most of my hobby, I just leave the housework!!!

I spend a lot of time looking after my husband, and he knows I need time to myself now and again, and this is what I do in "my time".

I use the small bedroom in our house for my computer room, but now with the card stuff, well, I just wish it had rubber walls!!!

With respect ladies, everyone should have the time and space for something like a hobby, time for just you. We all lead pretty busy lives nowadays and we all need time for ourselves. I should take this advice myself!!
