Here are a few more (more to come!). These were all done within the local art class or out with the art teacher in the summer. Though I do not go to art class any more, she is very good and invites me along on trips out during the summer months. Trips are free but no tuition is given.

Firstly a couple of farms - Shade's Farm at Purlpit and then Church Farm in Bathford.

The first picture is the village pump at Holt. The second one was done in Winsley. Whilst everyone else was painting quaint little cottages in the village, yours truly was sitting in the churchyard! This typically Victorian Cross intrigued me - "Dearest Evangeline" (what a lovely name) was born on April 12th 1855 and died on 5th November 1887. The inscription goes on to just give the name of her father. I wonder if he was Lord of the Manor or something? I guess I will never know.

Three more, done during Art Class.

Firstly daisies, watercolour & gouache on coloured paper.

Second is an illustration for The Wind in The Willows

"He trailed a paw in the water and dreamed long waking dreams. The water rat, like the good fellow he was, sculled steadily on and forebore to disturb him"

Thirdly painting trees, "Put some people or animals in and make it interesting" she said - so I did! :rolleye11:

Back again soon!

The cross is fantastic DL.
It reminds me of the one for my grandparents.

The colours of your 'Daisy' picture blend together perfectly.

What I love is the different subject matter, and colours, subtle on some and then bright on others, awesome.

I will be back, hopefully, tomorrow with a few more then that will be it. (Oh gawd its almost tomorrow now!) then that will be it, Im afraid. Thank you everyone for your kind words - they have helped to give me confidence.

That cross, Emm, is haunting me. I have put "Evangeline" and "Winsley" into Google with no avail - I can find nothing about her. Maybe I will contact the Winsley website and see if anyone can throw any light upon her. I wonder why she died in her 30s? Consumption maybe? Intriguing!

WOW!!!!!! DL They are great.

They are really good.
They must be if I can tell what it is I am looking at.
I cant be doing with modern art which looks like one eye one arse and one elbow in a lot of the rubbish that is proclaimed ART.

I like things to be as I would perceive them with my eyes.
NOT as other folk THINK I should see them.

Well Done.

Miriam there are actually two books - "The Wind in the Willows" and "Toad of Toad Hall" by Kenneth Graham.

I read them at school and they are brilliant! The author gives human characteristics to the animals - and we've all met someone like Mr Toad at one time or another!

Also very good, if they ever come onto your TV, are the films of the books. I always try to watch if there is one on.

I have a few more pics to put up, but I am off to Kent for a long weekend tomorrow, so they will have to wait until I get back.
