Flash

Postby admin » Mon May 23, 2005 10:25 pm

Didn't feel like doing much graphics or forum stuff today.

I've been trying to get my head round flash for months- and failing miserably, but today I finished the first thing I've done from scratch.

I was trying to play music without having to upload MP3's and faff about with players.

The only other person to see it said- doesn't the picture DO anything!

But I can only learn one thing at a time! moving pictures will come!

Don't suppose anyone else is any good at flash- I could do with a LOT of tips!

I haven't got a clue what Flash is -

Oh - just clicked on the On button!!!!
Guess it has something to do with pictures and music then?

Flash is what all the games in the Games area are made with, Emm- and a lot of the fancier animated e-cards.
Websites can be made in Flash as well. You use a sort of Javascript, and that's what I can't get my head round.

One benefit of it is that the song in the above is a 5MB mp3, but using it as a flash object compresses it to less than 500kb.

Pictures and music is as simplistic as my first effort. :P

Oh, is this why the 'Going Home' music has vanished from the greyhound site since you moved it?
:angeldevil:

 I haven't been into the Games area.

The going home music should still be there- but Mozilla not good at playing music without Quicktime plug in. I go to the sites with music using IE, until I get round to downloading it.

It's on the whole site, Emm, but as Jenny's was put on later, I'll check how the music is enbedded in the rest of it, Maybe needs tweaked.

You mean the intro, al? Cracking, isn't it. Wonder if Rowan's could do with one- a bit more peaceful, though!

Emm, Make sure your Quicktime plug-in is set up to play wav. It's a wav on Greyhounds but a midi on Jenny.
