Bird Happenings

Postby Monika » Wed Mar 24, 2010 1:34 pm

Yesterday, we had a rook on the garden which couldn't fly so we fed and watered it and kept a look out for any predators. It spent most of the day (from breakfast) just sitting on the garden and I wondered what would become of it when night fell. I'm happy to say that it quite suddenly took off around 5 o'clock.

This morning, I have watched a wren with nesting material flying in and out of some ivy at the front and I have also seen a bird feeding on the ground which I had never seen before. When I looked it up, I found it was a reed bunting.

I sometimes miss not going out to work, but retirement does have its compensations if you keep your eyes peeled.
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving isn't for you!
