Pet Hates.

Postby Maywalk » Tue Mar 07, 2006 9:32 pm

Talking about buttons on another thread set me thinking of some of life's pet hates. Small but very significant.

WHY do manufacturers put such LITTLE buttons on womens blouses and mens shirts.
I spent ten minutes this morning trying to do up farting little buttons on my blouse.
I went and got a big safetypin in the end to use as a button hook.

They certainly knew what they were doing many moons ago when they invented the button hook to do their boots up with.

I hate side zips in trousers. I have a very smart, dressy trouser suit and the zip is at the side on the trousers......the LEFT hand side and I am right handed. You should see me struggling to do the zip up after a visit to the loo.

I agree with both of you. Fiddly little buttons are just no use and the side zips are a pain in the butt!

I just pull them on over my head. As for trousers, elasticated waistbands
will do for me!

Oh yes! I have a few of them. You can't wear them into town though.

Comes to us all Maywalk. Talking of button hooks, I have my mother-in-law's needlwork box and inside I found a bone handled button hook together with its partner, a shoe horn. Funny how these things come to light. cheers Penny.
