Experimenting today did the following and it came out a treat. Even I ate some and I hate glace cherries.

2 oz glace cherries, chopped
2 oz chopped nuts
2 oz chopped peel
1 tablespoon coconut (optional)

2 oz caster sugar
2 oz marge
1 tablespoon milk
1 oz plain flour

4 oz cooking chocolate.

In a saucepan melt marge and sugar gently
Stir flour into the milk and add to the melted butter
Remove from heat and add all the fruit
mix well

Put into a sandwich tin ( approx 7" square)Lined with parchment

Pre heated oven 190c 375f gas 5

Cook for 10 minutes

Allow to cool then tip out and remove paper

Melt chocolate and spread over the smooth underside of Florentine

Mark in curves with fork.

Allow to cool and then cut or break into smaller pieces.

I used to make these - they're lovely!

Daren't any more, I'd have to "check" a few to see if they tasted nice!

Pity you have to stop the goodies Monsy. Have you ever tried the Mayo Clinic diet. Guaranteed loss of 1lb per day. Did it for hubby and it worked,
Diet is for 14 days only.
For example.

Monday. (breakfast same each day) 1/2 grapefruit or 1 or 2 eggs boiled or poached. Black Coffee.

Lunch.
Fresh fruit salad ( with no syrup). You can put anything in it and eat as much as you like.
Black coffee.

Dinner.
1/2 Grapefruit. Mixed green salad. One piece of dry toast. Black coffee.

Gets better each day, for instance Wednesday is lamb chops and Saturday steak.

cheers Penny.
