For Monsy. A rich and delicious sweet not too rich..Very quick and simple.
ORANGE CREAM PIE
3 oz butter or marg
4 oz kellogs cornflakes - crushed
2 oz caster sugar
Half a Rountrees Orange jelly.
1 small 6oz can of carnation evaporated milk
1 small can mandarin oranges
Method,
Rub the butter in with the cornflakes
Stir in the sugar
Line a 9" pie plate and press the mix in firmly.
Bake in pre-heated oven for 10 minutes.
Allow to cool
350F 180C GAS MARK
Dissolve the half orange jelly in a little hot water and make up to 1/4 pint with the juice from the tin of oranges.
Put aside to cool - but not set.
Chop half the tin of mandarin oranges and leave rest for decoration.
Whip the small can of evaporated milk until doubled in bulk.
Fold in the chopped mandarins
Pour into the cooled pie shell and decorate with the left over oranges.
Note. Try also with raspberry jelly and raspberries. strawberry jelly and strawberries, and lemon jelly with oranges.
Delicious and simple.
