McCalls cookbook

Have been asked for a recipe from McCalls cook book. Plum pudding. Anybody got this book or know the recipe. cheers Penny.

Thanks Rowan. I feel that McCalls is a magazine not a cook book, but one that has the odd recipe in. Did wonder if the person meant a Christmas Pudding but have no word yet. Will just have to keep searching.Thanks anyway. cheers Penny. :grouphug:

Have just found McCalls cooking school. There are so many plum puddings but none with the title 'McCalls plum pudding'. Will have to delve further. cheers Penny. :groaner:

Is this the one?



McCalls ENGLISH PLUM PUDDING

1 c. chopped suet
1 c. raisins
1 c. currants
1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped carrots
1/4 lb. lemon and orange peels
2 medium apples, chopped
6 English walnuts, chopped
3 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. jam
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
Mix well together. Steam in mold 3 hours. Serve with hard sauce.
