One of many childhood duties was to stand on a Saturday morning and do all the vegetables for Scotch Broth.

I remember potatoes used to be ginormous in these days. I used to get a hiding if the peel was too thick, so I pretended I was a heart sugeon cutting nasty bits off and got wafer thin peel down to a fine art.

Thought you might be interested in the sequal to scotch broth.
Tuesday evening, got three large lamb chops out of the freezer ready for lunch Wednesday. Found next morning to be three pieces of stewing lam chops so hurridly changed menu for lunch and decided to do a makeshift stew with the chops. Did a quick, add a bit of this and a drop of the other etc.The result ready for Thursday lunch was super. Hubby said, no more scotch broth, this one will do in future. Save my own bacon as it were.

cheers Penny.
