Chopping boards need to be clean. After final rinse of very hot water, rub salt or cut lemon into the wood to deodorise.

Remove fish odour from hands by rubbing them with dry mustard powder or bicarbonate of soda.
Mustard is also very good for deoderising fishy silverware, add a teaspoon of mustard powder to the washing up water. For other ustensils rub with lemon rind.

A food mixer is easlily cleaned by filling one third of the pot with water, and a squirt of washing up liquid, turn on machine for a few seconds. Do exactly the same with plain cold water to rinse.
If the mixer has been used for strong smelling food add a drop of lemon juice or vinegar to the rinsing water. It will also removed traces of oil.

To save any recipes cut out from a magazine etc. store them in any old photo album. The plastic covers are good protection for flimsy paper.
