Sorry for delay in reply, been busy making rolls this morning as well as lunch, have the granchildren this afternoon and they both insist on choc chip cookies and cheese rolls for a snack after swimming.
Wheat is a grain, like pearl barley, corn etc. We can get it at most health stores, not sure where you would go for it.
A demi-john is a large (1 gallon) glass bottle to keep lhe liquid in whilst fermentation is taking place. ( frothing and or bubbling)
It is fitted with a cork in which a shaped glass/plastic tube inis put and into this tube a small amount of water is put.
When the wine or beer starts to ferment little bubbles make their way throught the tube and out through the water, this stops the risk of explosion and protects the liquid from any contamination.
Many years since I made this, found people preferred the strong ale.
Hope the explanation is clear for you, cheers Penny.

cheers Penny. :grouphug:
