Crispy coconut cake

Going thro' some old note books found this one, used to make it about 30 years ago. Decided to do it today. Lovely.

CAKE

6 oz soft marg
6 oz caster sugar
6 oz S.R.flour
3 eggs
pinch salt
1 level teaspoon baking powder

Grease and line 7" square baking tin. Oven 350. gas mark 4. 1 - 11/4 hours.

Cream sugar and marg.
add beaten eggs one at a time with a little of the flour.
add rest of flour, b.powder and salt,
add coconut.
Put into tin and level the top.

Topping

3 oz soft marg
3 oz coconut
3 oz demerera sugar
1 oz chopped walnuts.

Cream marg and sugar, add coconut and walnuts.
Spread over top of cake mix evenly.

When cooked, leave in tin for 30 mins. the turn out onto a wire tray.
