Postby Penny » Tue Mar 10, 2009 6:59 pm

Did some experimenting this morning and came up with the following. Hubby just done his usual tasting and is delighted. So here goes.
MAKES 30

4 oz plain flour
4 oz wholemeal self-raising flour
2 - 3 oz caster sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon bi-carb
1 egg
4 oz marg

Plain choc for coating (optional)
Mix salt and bi-carb with flours.
Cream sugar and marg
Add beaten egg with some flour, little at a time.

Use rounded teaspoon (size of walnut)of mix and roll in palms to make a small ball.
Place on greased oven trays
Using the back of a fork dipped in milk slightly flatten the balls.
Preheated oven 350f . gas 4 - 5.
15 mins. Leave on trays or 10 mins.
Lift and put on wire trays.

When cold drizzle with melted chocolate. (optional)

cheers Penny
