having space in the oven this morning did the following. So gorgeous, hubby and I had a great wedge for tea with ice cream.
Rich chocolate cake with fudge cream
31/2 oz butter or marg
5 oz dark plain chocolate
5 oz s.r.flour
3/4 oz cocoa powder
7 oz caster
2 eggs
3 tablespoons double cream
Gently melt chocolate and marg. leave to cool.
Mix flour, sugar and cocoa
Tip all into a mixing bowl adding the melted choc and two beaten eggs.
Finally add the cream. (very gooy at this stage.)
Use 2 x 8" sandwich tins, lined and greased.
Pre heated oven. 350f gas 5. Approx 20 - 25 mins.
Leave in tin 10 mins to cool.
Melt 1 oz butter or marg, with 4 oz dark choc.Stir well to make a fudge.
Spread over 1 cake and put 2nd cake on top.
(Note) I made double the amount of fudge and spread it on top also.
This is so rich, even resorted to licking the bowl when making. Got a face covered with choc. cheers Penny.
