Scotch Woodcock

4 slices of bread
butter for spreading
anchovy paste

4 egg yolks
1/2 pint cream
seasoning

Toast and butter both sides of each slice
Spread with anchovy paste and place slices on top of one another
Keep pile warm.

Beat 4 egg yolks, add cream and seasoning.
Put mix in saucepan and heat until thick. DO NOT BOIL

When mix has thickened, pour over toast pile and serve hot.
