I had like an Asthma attack last night could not breathe it seemed to have been congestion in my throat, had been coughing most of the day which I think had irrited my throat. Of coarse this also caused my nasal passages to get blocked too.
Not got any of the meds you trying yet, we have no shops, but will certainly try.

I have found Gee'sLinctus good for helping to quieten the cough and night, so you get some sleep. It has a small amount of morphine in it, and
not all chemists stock it, but I found it worked well.

I found Co codamol quite helpful, it is cheap but not on show on the counter, you have to ask for it.

Monsey has a good idea, but you never mentioned as to whether this was day time or bedtime, if bedtime may I suggest and extra pillow to stop the fluids flowing back into your lungs creating the coughing .

What works for me is a pinch of black pepper in hot milk.

Sorry to read this Jann, anti-biots are a great benefit when there's infection and it seems as if this dratted cough needs to be booted once and for all. MAKE SURE you take them all because they only do good when the full course is taken. Sending good wishes for you to get well soon.

oh der Jann, you are having a time of it, I know what you mean about not liking antibiotics, but sometimes there is no choice ans you HAVE to take them, this is one of those times for you, so make sure take the whole course and if they haven't worked then get back to the doc's and get a different type, there's no, one type suits all unfortunately.

You take care of yourself now.
