Aspirin benefits are 'overstated', researchers warn. Millions of people who take a daily dose of aspirin in the hope of preventing a heart attack or stroke are at risk doing themselves more harm than good, researchers have warned.

I was advised to take 75mg daily which I did for ten years during which I had three heart attacks and considerable loss of blood. I no longer take them, but have had quad bypass surgery as well as several blood transfusions in the meantime.

I was on daily aspirin for about ten years too. Then mysterious bruises appeared on my arms and at first I was ignoring it, because that was when my husband died and ......well, with funeral arrangements etc, a lot going on. The bruises became more noticeable and looked like the result of some terrible accident!
Saw the doctor, stopped the aspirin and the bruises disappeared. I now take something prescribed in place of the aspirin .
