Ouch and it don't half hurt :groaner:

Appointment this morning should have known, but those clamps men would cry at half the pain,oh and yes my last one where I am recalled, the next time will be up to me in three years time.....so ladies check the NHS in your area, the rules have been changed, one has to keep a breast of the times :hide:

Nothing on this earth would induce me to go Josie, sorry!

If something appears, I'll deal with it...until then........

Don't tell me off for being daft, I know I am!

Monsy please please do not be afraid...I was making fun of a situation that is oh so serious...having lost three friends to breast cancer all different ages all different life styles, two at the moment having chemo ...one is 42 the other is 63,a number of friends have also had mastectomy......so for me give it a go.....a link albeit American but informative....

I had a routine one done, went back for a biopsy, had to go for a lumpectomy, when I had the operation, the surgeon couldn't find anything, so sewed me back up, then I got an infection in the wound and had to go for another operation to clear out all the gunge.

Once it cleared up, I determined that I would not be repeating the experience and like Monsy, if something crops up, I'll deal with it at that time and not before.

I think this is a very personal decision for each individual and it's not up to anybody else to either judge or influence

Josie you can still request a mammogram through your GP later on,I was discussing this with my consultant when he discharged me.
To all other ladies from a breast cancer survivor your mammograms are worth it.

I have had my last 'routine' one, but will ask again in 3 yrs,
it is all worth it when you get the letter to say it was all clear.

They´ve been calling me for years to go for one. I won´t go, no way. I´d rather not know anyway.

I've just seen this - I think the most amazing thing is when they 'clamp' you, and then tell you not to move - as if!!!!
I would happily have my entire body scanned and monitored - I want to know if there is anything going on.
Just come back from an ultra sound on my kidneys =- could take 10 days for the results.
We have a new centre here - run idependently for the NHS. What a difference from the local hospital - I was treated like a customer and the surroundings were excellent.
