YES, at last

They have agreed I can have a hysterectomy at last. It has been pointed out that it will be at great risk to me, being diabetic etc, but hopefully they will call me in in February. I've been told that I will have to wear those glamorous DVT stockings for at least 6 weeks and whilst in hospital will be having daily injections (I can't remember why now but will find out soon enough).
Off work for 6-12 weeks, oh boy will that upset them.
What a relief.

You should have been allowed this operation much earlier June. Take it easy for now and I hope all goes well for you.

It's a light at the end of a very long tunnel at last and I'm very pleased for you, June.

Had to laugh at your comment about the stockings. I too have had to wear them for six weeks after my quad bypass surgery. They maintain the circulation in your legs to help prevent blood clots forming. They are more usually referred to as Teds (thromboembolic deterrent) and, boy, are they tight! The one on my left leg, that has a scar three foot long where a vein was removed to use on my heart, was particularly vexing. It had to be changed every day until the wound had healed.

Long over due but once done, you'll be a lot happier, I feel certain of that but then please take it easy and give yourself plenty of time to recover

Vince.
