I will if I may join the ladies and do the exercises although I do view my problem differently

I am not over weight I should just be 6 inches taller.

Mind you the only way I can touch my toes is when I am sitting down

Pleased you joined the Gym toolip, hope you enjoy these as they are simple and do not require a lot of effort. Have a go VM, won't hurt and you never know stretching up, you might just add an inch or two.
One more for anyone keen, before getting out of bed lie on back. Bring knees up together towards chest, and then straighten legs in the air. Hold it counting to FIVE then slowly drop you legs but do not straighten knees until feet touch down. Relax and count FIVE. This is good for tummy muscles and I find after a few mornings it is quite easy. Have fun and keep us all informed when one of you touch your toes. cheers Penny. :grouphug:

I can still touch my toes fairly easily.

I've got an expanding waistline problem too, toolip!

I've been counting calories since last week and am amazed at the stuff I must have been shovelling down my throat in the past! plus been gardening too and feel a lot better for it.

Definately going to do those exercises Penny, thank you.

Rowan, you should be able to touch your toes, you're only 12. LOL! :roflmao:

I can still touch my toes without any problems, so long as I remember to come back up slowly so that I don't feel dizzy. As for all the other exercises, I am definitely having problems with them as my arms don't seem to like going in all sorts of directions but I haven't given up trying ................................................................. yet!

Stand in front of a mirror feet about 12 - 15 apart.
Swing right arm backwards like a windmill 5 times.
Left arm backwards like a windmill 5 times.
Hands together in front, DO not move head, turning from waist left, then right, then left, and so on counting left and right as 1. until you have a total of 5.
Stretch arms out in front, hands together , palms outwards. Count 5
Stretch arms behind back, hands together, count 5.
Arms stretched up above, hands together palms outward. count 5
relax. count 5
Bend over and try to touch floor ( DO NOT STRAIN)
Stand up,take a deep breath and count 5. Relax.

That is it. Let me know how you get on. Each day you should be able to reach a little closer to the floor. cheers Penny.

I have resurrected thsi topic as I have had my gym referral through from my GP. I can get 10 weeks free gym and swim and can't wait! I went to the induction yesterday and today and all set to start on Thursday.

I will also try your routine, Penny. Thanks! :grouphug:
