Coeliac Disease

Postby Victors Mate » Sun Dec 12, 2010 3:50 pm

After being told for many years she suffered from IBS tests have confirmed it is not IBS that my daughter Nicky suffers from but Coeliac Disease. As my granddaughter Amy was also told she suffers from IBS it is extremely likely the Doctor was wrong in her case as well she is in the process of getting screened.
Although they are both pleased to be getting the associated problems sorted out at last we would all like to know what took so long. It was only as a result of Gina’s leukaemia that Nicky insisted on a blood test that brought it to light.
Anyone else here suffer from Coeliac Disease? Will be grateful for any advice.

I have looked in my medical book VM and tried to print off what it says about this disease. Its rather a thick book so had a bit of trouble trying to print the part off but I hope it helps.

Thanks folks we have researched Gluten free products and recipes what we are looking for is information from sufferers who have personal experience of this disease. Sorry I should have made my question clearer, my fault.

There are quite a few forums about this VM.
Might be worth having a look at them because there are folk on them who have this setback.
I just typed in Coeliac forums.

Thanks Hazel. Providing there are no further problems both Nicky and Amy are pleased that they can now make progress in improving their health. Amy Googled coeliac disease and linked it to OCD and found that once the Gluten is eliminated there is an excellent chance of her OCD rituals losing at least some of their grip. :please:

You would not believe how many things I have crossed.

It's amazing how these conditions can be linked - makes you wonder about the effect of food additives, etc. doesn't it ? :dunno:
