Winter Sunrise

This was the view from my bedroom window when I staggered into wakefulness on the morning of 7 December and was sufficiently compos mentis to grab my camera. Only 14 seconds elapsed between the two pictures and the sky changed completely in that short time.
By the time OH emerged from the bathroom, three or four minutes later, the sky was an uninteresting all-over washed out pale blue and, two hours later, the rain was siling down .... again!
