Many thanks Vannin.
It doesn't seem five minutes since she was a little girl and there is a VERY close bond between us.
I wrote this poem that was read out at the ceremony and had quite a few folks coming to me hugging me and saying it brought a tear to their eyes. By the time everyone had done that my hat was all over the place and I looked piddled up even before the main toast.
"Betsy" mentioned in the poem was our Ford Classic Car and we bought another Sooty for her instead of a horseshoe and put the little horseshoe from her parents wedding day on a bit of ribbon round his neck the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses. She was over the moon
It seems like yesterday when our only grandchild made her debut
And when a serious illness struck which "Thank God" she pulled through
Taking her walks in the park to watch the ducks and go on the swings
Plus taking her in "Betsy" to various venues and many other things.
Wherever we went or whatever we did "Sooty" was always there
Now she and Sam are to be married and they have a life to share.
Thankyou Tami for all the years of pleasure you have given us.
Now we have a super "grandson by marriage" who is an extra plus.
We wish you a wonderful married life which will have ups and downs
There will also be great times of happiness as well as many frowns.
Remember that you are both well loved by us and we are happy to say
That we have lived long enough to share your extra special day.
Thankyou for the love given from the best granddaughter to be had
God Bless you both and lots of hugs from Grandma and Granddad.
