Yesterday we went on a canal boat cruise at Chichester with 24 friends that Dave went to Youth Club with (renamed the Youthless Club). There are a group of us who still stay in touch and do different things throught the year. Next Sunday there is a hike from Amberley, in June we have a skittles tournament and in July a barbecue. For the cruise one of our members was over from Barbados and for the barbecue another member is coming over from New Zealand. He and Dave plan to go rock climbing while he is here too.

We had a wonderful day yesterday, we had chartered the boat just for us. It was called the Bargee's Lunch Cruise and we had a ploughman's lunch, beer or wine and tea or coffee, all for the grand sum of £11.00 per head. The cruise was for 2 hours. I thought we'd only get one beer or wine each, but no, our glasses were topped up throughot the cruise. Our friends enjoyed it so much they have asked me to organise another one for next year,

Anyway, I hope this link works. The photos were taken by Dave and myself, apart from the group one taken by our son.

Thanks Deja
The weather certainly made the day, after the cruise we went back to friends' house in Worthing for a barbecue. It was so hot in their garden, my chest got a bit sunburnt.
I hope the weather stays fine for the hike next week.

Lovely photos. Took me back 20years to when I was a rep and used to visit the yacht club on the canal. Such a peaceful place I wanted to buy a house boat there, but Trev said that the cats would fall in the water :dunno:

How good that you are all still in touch like that.

You are not far from there Marilyn, you could always organise a trip for a group of friends.

Trouble is June, because it is almost on our doorstop they tend not to be interested - last year they all went to the Avon and Kennet Canal!

I am going to Chichester soon - to the Theatre to see 42nd Street, so that should be good.
