Remember
by Christina Rosetti

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Blimey Jann.
Lovely poem but it seems rather premature. Are you feeling down this morning. :(
Heres a hug to make you feel better. :grouphug:

Talking about poems I was MOST honoured when my cyber friend in Australia lost her husband had this poem of mine read out at the service.

No I didn't Jann.
I was upset enough already without watching that, because it not only brought back memories of the blitz and the smell of burning flesh plus the horror of that time but I had also received bad news about my cyber pal in NZ dying of cancer lung cancer that had gone to her brain.
It was left to me to ring our other friend in Leicester to break the sad news to her who is also suffering with lung cancer.
