I'm sure most everyone on this forum will be able to relate to these sentiments.

Patience is a Virtue

by OklahomaRose

Patience is a virtue, they say
Though I've never had much of it
Little things come my way
Setting my nerves on fire

Computer errors and having to reboot
send my nerves careening
holding my head in my hands
resisting the urge to pound the
machine to smithereens

Stubbing my toe on the frame of a door
or on the corner of a sofa
brings language out of my mouth
to cause the saltiest of
sailors to cringe and blush

Waiting my turn at the grocery store
pushes me to the limit
tapping my toe and shifting about
counting items in each basket
searching for a shorter lane

My car breaking down
sends me over the line
kicking tires and pulling wires
wishing I had full coverage
thinking I could burn it to the ground

Patience is a virtue, they say
I wish I had more of it
Little things will come and go
But my nerves I must preserve

Remember this?

Patience is a virtue
Virtue is a grace
Grace was a little girl,
Who wouldn't was her face
