My Sweetheart

My Sweetheart

Dilly asked why don't I write fun verse like I did last year, 60 +. Well I looked at her red hair and it inspired me to write this.

My Sweetheart

The dawn light glistened on her red hair,
As she slumbered, a beauty I do declare.
As my eyes get used to the light I could see,
She was awake her eyes looking up at me.

I smiled at her as she snuggled up very close,
I was so lucky that it was her I had chose.
To be together for life, till death us do part,
She will always be my loving sweetheart.

I gave her a kiss, and she got to her four feet,
As I too arose and got up from the sheet.
The call of nature is calling to my best friend,
A walk I promised I to her when I did befriend.
If I am wrong and there is nothing, then it will not matter....if there is 'something' then I am not afraid.
