Good afternoon.Glad you have heard from Dita.Hope she feels better soon and comes back to join us soon.Hard work looking after someone when you don't feel the ticket yourself.

I thought I had someone at my front door,so went rushing to answer it and no one there.Done it a second time then realised it was someone tapping in their flat.I got already for my drawing group this morning and then coped a upset tummy,so haven't been drawing.

Your lunch sounded very tasty yesterday Penny.Well done on your granddaughter doing her long walking.

How is your daughter getting on with her flat buying Andere?

It is a lovely sunny day here again,I had a quick trip to town to buy a magnifying glass. :roflmao:
Have a nice afternoon everyone. :bighugs:

Hi, everyone. Sunny, cool and breezy here also. Our Moss Man is making great progress with the roof, reckons he’ll be finished quite early tomorrow if it doesn't rain. I can't bear to watch him, shinning up a ladder then calmly stepping over the ridge tiles and materialising on the other side of the house. I get vertigo on the kitchen step-stool so this sort of malarkey is not for me.

Interesting about that note with the bread-maker, Penny. My dad worked for Spillers and Marriages in the 60s and 70s and I remember him talking about the inconsistency of English flour due to the climate . He always reckoned that, for bread, Canadian flour was best and that's what I use whenever possible. I didn't, even know you could get Australian flour in this coutrny but, then, I've never looked!
Maggieh, I hope you recover from your bug as quickly as it arrived. That sounds horrid. Daughter is waiting for the survey to be done on her new flat on Friday this week, then she has to wait for the surveyor's report. If that's ok,it will be all systems go. We've done all the paperwork, proofs of identity etc to satisfy the anti money-laundering rules so completion should happen as quickly as the legal searches can be done . She's hoping to move in the first half of December  . Yesterday, she had her post surgery check up with her consultant. He told her she still should not be lifting and carrying anything heavier than a small loaf of bread and nearly had a fit when she said she's planning to move house in a month! That apart, she's doing fine and is trying to get some physio organised to help speed up the recovery.

Just cooking big pork ckops with sweet onion and roast pots and cauliflower, followed by blackcurrants and cream. Will save some for you maggieh. Catch you later. cheers Penny

Good afternoon from a overcast Kent.Looks a bit grey in the sky.Not too cold yet so heating can go on later.
Noddy arrived at 1.45 and now munching a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea, while watching a cowboy film.Sleep will follow I think. :roflmao:

He has said he see how he is later wether he goes to fish/chip shop. Thats ok he can have marmite on toast.

My new black curtains are coming down, they have only been up 2 weeks. They are not long as I wanted them to be.So my son is having them on Saturday. Then I will put the new ones up that are long to the floor almost.

Your dinner sounded good today Penny,no wonder your hubby dozes off after. His cousin here is the same though.HA HA.
Glad your daughter is on the road to recovery,Andere.Hope the survey goes through ok,then the excitement of packing up and moving into her own abode. In rented we are restricted on stuff.Im only allowed to use pastel colours when decorating.
Have a jolly afternoon. Gosh his snoring already. Not been here a hour yet. :tantrum2:

Maggieh, is he still snoring? Time to play some seriously loud music and wake him up so he can go and get your fish supper.

My roof and gutters are all clean and pristine now and the Moss Man has done a brilliant job and gone on his way. The weather is grey and murky - not cold but very depressing so I felt in need of comfort food and there's beef & onions simmering in the slow cooker. Some gorgeous looking Belgian strawberries to follow - almost as nice as your blackcurrants, Penny. I saw very few black or redcurrants this summer and I do love them both

Good afternoon everyone.Lovely sunny day here nice light blue sky.I had a quick trip to the shop it was lovely out side.

My day hasn't gone as I planned it.I thought I would be able to get bedroom curtains down and put new ones up on my own like I did a few years ago when I was more sprightly. But I don't like standing on the top step anymore with no one else here incase I fall off.So I've given up on that idea for today.

Logan wasn't his normal self yesterday as he has had a few days unwell. He couldn't wait to let me hear his deep voice, bless him.He has a chesty cough as well.He bucked up at the little girl's birthday party though.

Glad to hear Dita will be seeing her doctor soon. Its a long time to wait if she has a chesty cough with Asthma/Copd.Get well soon Dita.

The dancing was good lastnight at Blackpool. Now to wait until tonight to see who has been booted out.Have a lovely afternoon all.

Sorry Logan was not up to scratch. OH got arthritis in his ankle and not happy to have any pain. Just waiting for young chappie to come. I will forward him to you for a gambol tonight as Dita won't be able to cope with him. He might even fix your curtains. Just had roast chicken, last one in freezer so will have to stock up this week. Simply lovely blue sky and sunny here but of course, rather cold. Granddaughter has just heard she has won one of 6 places of exchange at Sydney University and goes next July. Clever clogs. Well, all for now, have just taken loaf out for chappie, he is a bit late today. Take care all and enjoy the sun. cheers .Penny

Hi, all from a slightly chilly Lincs. After a couple of hefty rainshowers this morning, it turned into quite a nice day and I spent quite lot of the dry hours outside with the leaf vac. I've never seen anything like this; it was as though every tree for miles around decided yesterday to drop its remaining leaves. We woke up to find all of our outside space, front and rear, entirely covered in a neighbour's oak leaves. Previous years, they've only made it to the back and side of the house.. Then we went out and, all the way to Sleaford, it was really noticeable how trees that still had loads of leaves a couple of days before were totally bare. We parked in a riverside car park while we went to an exhibition and when we returned a couple of hours later, the car was covered in maple and horse chestnut leaves!

Now I'm taking it easy cos my arms and shoulders ache from wielding that heavy vac. It's quite weighty on its own but, when the collection bag is full of leaves, it weighs considerably more. I must do more to get fit again; since I abandoned my exercise machines when we moved (no space here) I'm turning into a flabby vegetable.

We've just cheered ourselves up by booking a 5 day holiday to Ireland for April. It's an escorted tour that covers a lot of places and ground so i hope wecan maintain the pace! Gives us something to look forward to, anyway.

Glad you managed to get the curtains sorted out, Maggieh, with a little sisterly help. Mine all desperately need cleaning but they're gonna have to wait until spring when we redecorate and I'll replace them with something I actually like. Definitely no pencil pleats, ruffles or tie backs - can't stand faff!!

Hope your trip in April is a great success. I can understand about the leaves, just as well you don't live here, surrounded by trees. We mainly leave everything until the trees that drop leaves have finally shed, during such time the wind helps. Take it easy, cheers Penny

Morning all, hope everyone is well and keeping warm. Off for lunch with OH and son, makes a change. Not a very bright day here and really cold. Just received the following:-

When I was young I thought growing old would take a long time.
The real threat facing the world is not Artificial intelligence, it's Natural Ignorance.
I replaced our bed with a trampoline, my wife hit the roof.
How many boxes of thin Mints do I have to eat before they start to work?
I Like trampolining, but must admit it has its ups and downs.
My friend drowned in a bowl of muesli, A strong currant pulled him in.

Just light ones but may raise a smile, Take care, cheers Penny
