Morning Dita and all, hope hugs arrived in time for walkies, funny old weather today. We have received a warning re Sahara dust. Seems Andere got fed up with it and sent it up here. Just in case Dita, it says anyone with heart or breathing problems should stay indoors. Do hope all your mess is cleared now, enough is enough as they say. OH gone for lunch with his old workmates so a nice peaceful hour or two for me. I expect pussies will be having today indoors, kisses for all to help the day along. Grandaughter in Spain, says weather very hot. Having a wonderful time with a lovely family. Birds are all nesting so only see them when they come for food, they sit all day on top. So far, we can see 34 nests from here but lots more about. Funny, I keep saying, always see lots and lots but have never seen a dead one. ?? Have a lovely day all and take care, watch the weather for dust clouds. Next time, please, Andere, get rid of it your end. cheers Penny

I tried, Penny, I tried. I was gonna have it deported back to where it came from but it escaped from the detention centre and went on the lam .... :dunno:

We still have dust here, too. Lucy K went out for a while and did her usual morning roll-around on the windowsills. I was stroking her when she came in again and her fur feels all dusty and gritty. She's a fastidious sort of a cat so I don't suppose it will take her long to clean herself up again. It's not fantastically warm, whatever the forecasters were predicting so I'm happy to stay home and ignore the dust. OH nursing a slightly sore head after helping and old friend celebrate his 70th birthday last night - heaven only knows what state the birthday-boy was in!

Glad Charlie's OK, Viv - if the weather stays fine you'll be able to enjoy getting out and about and doing things together - dust permitting, of course. Purrs and hugs to all.

Hi Penny and all, wow! 34 nests that is alot of additions to your birdie family Penny, they'll be all visiting you very soon for their breakfast so better get plenty of seed in. Thanks for hugs very welcome during walkies today, plenty low cloud so no sun and imagine we are getting our share of Sahara dust + plenty of our own pollution, did not have too much bother while out this morning because of it. We should be in Spain sharing the hot weather with your Grandaughter, what happened to our arrangement with Andere? maybe L Katt wouldn't let her go. Work has finished but scaffold remains, hubby did manage to replace the guttering and facia despite of it, by using the steps because it is not too high. Enjoy your bit of peace and quiet today, keep your chin up :) Penny and take care all.

Hi Penny and all, very dull I guess the environment conditions have something to do with it and we do feel it is affecting us more at the moment because of our chest problems, however it not helping any by the continual broadcasting by the media reminding us every five minutes. I am just watching my hubby talking to a couple of men at the door, one has a camera think it must be newspapers.........I was right he has just had his pic taken and being interviewed by our local paper, and has been answering questions about our village and of course the work which has been going on here because of the free grant we were given by the windfarm and local council. Our little village of 42 houses is called 'the forgotten village' until now :) Thanks for those hugs Penny during our doggie walk it was short and sweet because needed to do a bit of cake baking ths morning. Hope you enjoy your shop and catch up with the gossip with your son, keep smiling Penny :) and all.

Hi, all - well, the dust cloud is still with us and seems worse than before; my eyes are all gritty and sore despite using lots of lubricant drops and my throat feels all clagged-up so I have to keep 'harrumphing' to clear it. It must be absolutely horrible for anyone with respiratory problems so all sympathy and hugs to Dita and Mr Dita. :grouphug:
OH went out and gave our privet hedge its first good cut of the year this morning; it looks very neat now but he's regretting it because of all the dust. He's busy catching up on some paperwork that I've been nagging him about for ages - wonders will never cease! I, on the other hand, have had a wonderfully idle day - met a friend for coffee and doughnuts and a little gentle shopping before lunch; since then I've been idling at my lap-top doing social things rather than working.
Sorry about the trip to Spain by the way - did I go to the wrong airport? I waited at Stansted for ages but maybe you all went to Luton or East Midlands?? Missed the flight, anyhow - such a pity.
Lucy K is as sleepy as ever, currently on a chair which I shall have to vacuum as it's covered in shed fur and bits of sahara desert. Purrs to all.

Morning Penny and all. You should have ironing done by now and maybe having lunch. It is still a bit grim outside even doggie not so keen on walkies but your hugs helped Penny. We have had Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, also Lesser ones visiting all winter but Goldfinches are not such frequent visitors and there is usually quite a flock of them when they do, they are beautiful little birds so colourful. Been having a purge while hubby went to dentists, he has all false ones so he will be fine, I always dread going because still have some of my own.Gonna have a cuppa now, cheers mi dears keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all.

Hi Dita, yes, finished ironing, that is no trouble at all since OH bought an Elna press several years ago. All I do is sit and pull down the lever for 10 secs. Like me, I hate the dentist and doctors to. Been lucky with my teeth so far, fingers crossed. Just did an All Day Breakfast for lunch, makes a change. Did gammon, eggs, toms, mushrooms, hash browns and fried bread. Ending with cooked apple and blueberries with cream. Must say, although I am not a keen fry person I enjoyed todays meal. Extra hugs for doggie, not a nice day today. Hope your hubby is keeping out of this misty stuff. OH in his usual lying position in the lounge. He calls it sitting. Managed to get him to do one job today, clean ands re-fill the birds what bowl. He must be worn out now :roflmao: . Have a good rest yourself and take care. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, nice day for walkies so hope doggie gets hugs in time. Also kisses for pussies, sure they will move about a little today. Rather dull but one can feel the sun behind the clouds so quite bearable. Nothing planned as usual. Just doing savoury mince for lunch. After problems with carrots going soft etc I finally convinced myself to try a packet of cut slices Only a small one from the supermarket but They have been in the fridge for a couple of weeks and are still crisp. Pop them in the boiling water with the spuds and they are super. So far, only vegs in packets that I would really recommend. Take care all and have a good weekend. cheers Penny

Hi, all - hope the dog-walking was good today and the dust clouds have all gone? It's fine here but very moody, doesn't know whether the sun should shine or not. LK goes out when the sun's out, then back home when it clouds over to yowl at us as if we could make it sunny again. Just finished a load of ironing with my new iron; it's very efficient and quick but guzzles water faster than OH glugs down ale! I guess I'm a bit weird 'cos I actually like ironing :ironing: so long as there's something on the radio to interest me at the same time. I tried watching TV and ironing but had to stop when I kept ironing my fingers. Ouch!

No plans for the weekend; OH is hunkered over his PC and is supposed to be thinking about how he wants to celebrate his birthday. Tomorrow, he's off to Dulwich where he and some other anorakky types are doing some volunteer work in a little TV and radio museum to refurbish the exhibits. He told me I was welcome to go along too, if I want. Yeah, right. I'll be the apprentice holding the screwdriver and passing the solder, shall I? I shall stay home and amuse myself instead .....

Have a good weekend all, whatever you're doing or not doing!
