Think you deserve one of these :grouphug: after having to face all that sad news Andere.

Dita, I wonder if you're talking about Tony Peart? He lived in your neck of the woods and, until his death in 2006, was a very active participant in the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft as well as at the Lincs Vintage Vehicle Society, who were bequeathed 2 of his beautiful buses in his will. They're still in regular use there on open days and being very well cared for. Tony was a teacher at a school in Chesterfield and, such was his enthusiasm for his preserved vehicles, he would occasionally arrive at work in one of his buses!

Yes! thats the guy Andere, as soon as I saw his name I remembered, he was so well thought of in this area. It really is a small world isn't it?

Penny I too wish my OH would go to some different places beside supermarkets. Too much effort  Stop making him marmalade :sunglasses:

Good afternoon, all and many thanks for the hug, Dita. Some good news this morning! Jackie, whose puss was supposed to be operated on today to remove a tumour on her eye, called to say Puss is OK!! They thought yesterday the lump was smaller than it had been and this morning it was gone; vanished! They went to the vet who found tiny traces of a scratch when she used a magnifier and said it must have been a cyst that formed around an injury. So now the puss is on drops to deal with any possible infection and Jackie and her OH left the surgery sobbing tears of happiness. Now all they have to worry about is her OH's visit to the oncologist tomorrow ....

The weather here is grey, muggy and intermittently rainy so I'm not going anywhere but shall stay in and nag OH about getting rid of some of his piles of 'stuff' which I'm fed up with falling over. I was going to say 'piles of junk' but he insists it's not junk. :dunno:

.......Stop making him marmalade

But if she stops making marmalade, he'll just want to go to the supermarket again to buy some .....

Hope you're getting better, Dita? Don't get too wet on dog-walking duty. Lucy K's in a funny mood, very energetic and chasing her toy mice all over the place this morning. Best wishes and purrs to all.

Thrilled to bits re your news of the cat Andere, wonderful relief. Hope all are well, take care Dita. Had to laugh, OH buying marmalade at Supermarket. He drives me there, gets a trolley to lean on, takes it in the store and then sits and waits for me to finish the shopping. Must say he is getting very bad on his legs. Could be lack of exercise but he says it is the statin he takes. Penny :grouphug:

Penny, if he is having bad effects from the statin, he should change to a Fenofibrate. Nobody should have to stay on a statin. I struggled with muscle pain for years after being prescribed statins in 2003 after two mini strokes. Then I took myself off them and felt fine - told the doctor 'Never again'. He substituted a Fenofibrate about four years ago, no further problems except normal arthritis twinges.

For the past year I have been having intermittent breathlessness and now it has become too frequent to shrug off, and there were twinges too.

So I have an appointment on Monday to have a 24-hour monitor fitted, followed by an Echocardiogram. It may be no more than a blip. My BP is good, also blood test.

What annoys me is, when I saw the practice nurse for an annual review for both Thyroid and Cholesterol last week, and mentioned it, she was so offhand and said it was down to overweight (I AM working on that) though the doctor says that is rubbish because there would be constant, not intermittent, breathlessness if it was down to overweight.

Thanks vannin, he went to see the chemist and during his visit asked her about other things, she said not to change as others have more side effect. Can't win can we. He only takes 10.mg whilst mine are 40.mg. Makes one wonder. Good luck for Monday. cheers Penny

So pleased to hear good news about the little pussy cat Andere, so heartening when your head is full of despair.
Vannin I too get breathless at times, often happens when I'm stressed and I think I reach bursting point controlling emotions.
I have a spray which helps. It is very distressing condition Vannin and I hope you find out this time what is causing the problem (Hugs) Good luck Monday.

If it is 40mg of Simvastatin versus 10 mg of, for instance, Atorvastatin, the dosage actually has the very same quantity of the active ingredient. Simvastatin are much cheaper for the NHS and doctors were directed, a few years ago, to try and cut costs by moving their statin patients on to Simvastatin.
When I was moved to one of the Fenofibrates instead, the only side effect was heartburn so I have to have Zantac to counteract that. Quite a common thing in prescribing..........meds to offset side effects of other meds! Pharmacists are knowledgeable and helpful but it still might be worth your hubby mentioning the Fenfibrates to the doctor, saying 'a friend mentioned them'!

Thank you for your good luck wish.

Viv, I have my fingers crossed for you that Monday's tests don't reveal anything terrible. Like Dita, I get breathless when I'm stressed or anxious, and have done ever since I was a child and the problem with that is that worrying about it makes it a zillion times worse. Sometimes, it's possible to be stressed without realising how fraught you are until you find yourself gasping like a fish out of water and going light-headed. But you're wise to get it checked out so good luck with that. :luck:

It's not very warm here; there was rain earlier but it's dry for the moment so I hope dog-walkies can be fitted into a dry spell, but wrap up well! Not much happening here today; I shall nag OH to chuck some more junk out and go and make soup. Lucy K sends furry-purry greetings to all from her favourite position - lying on the duvet so it can't get away!

This morning, I felt I had the sequence details wrong, re appointments, and fortunately rang the surgery to check.

Monday will just be the ECG of which the graph result is sent to the hospital. Then, at such time as it takes, hospital will send for me, for an ECHO. Then lastly, the 24-hour monitor. I think I was not in a state to take in what I was told yesterday (not unusual!) Though possibly, if the hospital sees nothing out of kilter, there will be nothing after Monday.

Today the windows man will come at mid-day to replace a window - the glass sealed unit, not the frame too. This one started to have the mist and distortion within the secondary glazing, a while ago, as I 'saved up' and am now sick of looking at such a messy window. The same people have replaced three of mine before, in the past four years.

Morning Dita and all, hope you are feeling better Dita, hugs and kisses sent as usual, All seems to be going haywire today. Log in, then a notice, such and such is not responding. Both shattered after all the stuff of yesterday. Hopefully will be able to have a rest, but not this week. Son taking his wife away for a Anniversary weekend so have the children, should say young adults. Roll on next week. I do hope all are well and having good news for a change. Thanks for explanation vannin, have told OH but he will only listen to the Doc so I leave it at that. Have a good week all and please take care. Hope you are getting plenty of rest Dita. cheers Penny

Hi Penny, Vannin, Andere and all, great to see so many posts. Andere you describe those symptoms exactly, it is as you say distressing when happening. L Katt is sure a lucky cat taking charge of your duvet with such ' all mine ' attitude. Been raining most of the day up to now, hopefully with the help of all your hugs we will be donning the wellies and wading down the lane for our walkies. My OH takes Atorvastatin he seems to have very little side effects and he takes many others too for his Mental Illness and lung problems. Your work will be cut out for you over the weekend Penny, bet you will be doing plenty of cooking for a start, guess there will be plenty of enjoyment too and many a laugh for you to remember anyway :). Take care of yourselves Penny, Andere, Vannin and all around. :grouphug:

Must be going crackers, came on here just after six to say van had finally gone and I had spent a lot of tome trying to sort out all the stuff.Must have pressed the wrong button again. Our young gardener came so it was all systems go. Good job I had made a loaf earlier. He suggested I have a garage sale. No way, enough is enough. Daughter coming on Friday to take whatever she wants, the rest to charity shops. Son doesn't need anything. Hope all are well and that you are getting plenty of rest Dita. Take care. cheers Penny

See if I can press the right button this time.
