That's about the average waiting time around here for anything regarded as 'non-urgent' - though how they know it's non-urgent if they don't see you, I can't figure out
I think raccoons are very pretty but not sure I'd want one for a pet but I should think poor Dolly is puzzled; that must be a completely new smell for her to get to grips with!
Lucy's at the cattery - aaaaaaaaaah! - and the car's had a wash; the cases are packed and the forecast is for rain tomorrow so everything's all set for our departure in the morning! Must check that OH has his passport .... We're starting with 3 nights in Calais then wandering off all over the place for a couple of weeks and I'll check in when hotel wifi permits. Meantime, hope everyone stays healthy and behaves themself with decorum (Viv! Put that fire-fighter down!! ) :bighugs: to all.

 @ Andere! Enjoy your holiday.

Penny, sorry to hear of your frustrating time at the surgery. It was the same with my non-follow-up to the electrolytes blood test. So I decided not to have any (mid-July) appointment because the result was normal. I know why it was normal too. I had anticipated that I must be deficient in some minerals especially Magnesium, which has happened before. So I bought supplements at the time I first heard the doctor ponder the possibility, before the blood test appointment. By the time of the result I'd been on them for nearly three weeks. In that time, all the symptoms had gone and are staying 'gone'. Breathlessness, numb or tingly hands and fingers in the mornings, and swollen fingers and ankles. Wish I had bought my supplements months ago.
I suppose, in their process of elimination, they eliminate the big one (heart) first. Hence the ECG and talk of a heart monitor later!

Hoping you will feel better soon.

Hi Penny, Vannin and all, I can identify with the breathlessness and a very dry horrid throat and mouth too especially when I wake up, this does not help my cough. I did put myself on Vitamins about 3 weeks ago wondering if that could be part of the problem because I have a very small appetite, I am taking Sanatogen for over 50's. Drizzly here so doggie had very swift walk today plus more air which is a change, I guess it will dampen the pollen count for your hubby Penny. Are you still off line? if so you must be using your Huddle, I ought to set up my Kindle in case we go off again because at least it works when all else fails. Keep smiling Penny :) and take care Vannin and all. Hope Andere has a good holiday, she should have decent weather, my last visit to Calais was very choppy and we spent 5hrs stuck in between there and Dover on the way back due to the weather. My Grandaughter loved the adventure but Taz the dog was not too pleased.

Hi Penny and all, oh! heck still no internet at least you managed to get through with your huddle thank goodness. Rainy old morning not the best for walking little doggie may get mud on her clean white fur, enjoyed your hugs though. Done a bit of a clean-up and going to do what you advise and relax by watching a bit of tennis + crossword, do practise what you preach Penny think you need a rest too keep smiling :) and take care all.

It's grey and damp in Calais, too but the forecast is for better, later. It was lovely yesterday and we did a little bit of exploring in the city centre, including going up the belfry at the town hall where there's a magnificent view of the surrounding area. OH was able to come, too as there are lifts all the way up so his poor old knees didn't have to suffer. Lots of lovely food and drink here; I'm going to come home at least one size bigger than I went away! Oh, by the way, Viv - thanks for your posting about the mineral supplements which I read to OH who's been having many of the same symptoms. He's agreed that he should give supplements a try when we get home as the breathlessness is now quite distressing and limiting his activities far more than the knee problem. His GP is going through the process of eliminating heart and lung disease as a cause but it all takes so long ....

Morning Dita and all. What a weekend. Still no internet but can put up with it for now. Hubby went to get up yesterday and saw the clock had stopped. Went into his shower room, no light. Did a check all round, no power at all. We checked the whole property only to find no power anywhere. What a day, two freezers and two fridges with no power. We spent a lot of time sorting out the lighting and had to have wires trailing everywhere so that we could keep the freezers going. Finally we got an electrician to come this morning. He has just gone. A very honest chap. He finaly got all working but said he has no idea what was wrong. Another £50.00 up the spout. Not my year. Must say OH did his best but is shattered today. Hope hugs and kisses were not too late. Hope Andere and OH are having good time. Take care all and forgive my bad mood .cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, blimey the situation at yours has got from bad to worse no wonder you are in a bad mood, had considered sending you mail then realized if you couldn't get on line what was the point, had to go out earlier but was anxious to see if you had been here -missed ya-. Anyway hope all back to normal again now must have been a shock for OH when he arose yesterday. Think its you who needs the hug now Penny after all the tiring stressful carry on. I too hope Andere and OH having a good time, think we should nip over and join them. Anyway keep your pecker up Penny :) and take care all.

Oh, dear, Penny - it never rains but it p*sses down, eh? Big :bighugs: to help you along and I do hope the lekky man has got it sorted for you. Strange how power cuts only ever happen when the fridges and freezers are full, isn't it? Hope your OH has his wifi sorted, too or he'll be sidling in to use your PC while your back's turned!

The rain radar looks as though it should be good walkies weather for Dolly today. It certainly is here in Ostend, Belgium and I've seen lots of Belgian dogs being taken for walkies already this morning. It's bright and sunny but with a northerly wind blowing so not especially hot. We have no plans for a couple of days except to potter about, eat, drink and be very idle. I'm going to take a stroll in the park in a minute then sit down under a tree with my Kindle until I feel hungry again! :sunglasses:

Guess what. Came into my computer room to look for an address and saw a light twinkling beside my computer. Thought I would just switch on, lo and behold here I am. I cannot believe this. Not grumbling, just staying with fingers crossed. cheers Penny :ithanku: :ithanku: :ithank
