Hi all. Andere, I hope your husband's condition is contained while you are away but is a bit unsettling him having been summoned and warned, so close to leaving.

Despite all my optimism about Trixie, once October arrived and my thinking it was OK to ease off the treatment,...well, it wasn't. 'They' caused a clumpy sore on top of her head which she scratched so hard she caused two bald patches and the start of infection. So it was down to the vet, and two injections: one steroid and one antibiotic. Since then it has been sticky and she shies away from letting me bathe the stickiness. Big appetite (effect of steroids) thirsty; and sleeping when not eating and drinking. Still out a lot at night though.

The lovely vet tells me she knows of cats who have harvest mite all year round. I knew fleas were said to be prevalent all year, poor cats can't win.

'Friend' is sympathetic and we have settled (again) for BEing friends.

Hope that back of yours is improving, Penny.

Poor little puss. And poor Viv, having to deal with a stressed, distressed and sick cat.I was sure she'd be much better now but,in the same way we're told that fleas and head lice are becoming resistant to the conventional treatments, then perhaps it's also true of harvest mites. Best wishes to both of you for a full recovery and some purring contentment very soon.
Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes. OH is saying he'll be sensible and not upset his internal balance by imbibing too much liquid of any kind and he is putting the tablets in his bag for emergency use. Any problems or symptoms and I'll be on the phone to NHS Direct at once :)

She says she has no idea what the meals were supped to be but after each lunch they all ended up in MacDonalds. Off to see the Great WAll today. Hi Penny and all, dull out today, had to nip back to Sainsbury's and get a size 10 which seems ok, will find out tonight when I've had my bath because I intend to try them out. Pleased you got the doc over with but seems you are going to have to wait until you've heard from the clinic,(hugs) from me and Dolly too (hugs). Aston Martin now you're talking quite a while since I clapped eyes on one of them-- let alone a ride in one--lucky guy. Just had a text from my Grandson he is working in some science laboratory looking for a cure for cancer trying to secure his PHD, does mountain climbing in his spare time? Hope you enjoyed your Chinese, keep smiling Penny :) and take it easy. Hope Andere and Vannin + fur balls are ok xx

Hi Penny and all, it is rainy and almost dark certainly no encouragement from Dolly to even set foot outside. Will be scanning the crowd this afternoon until I spy your son at Twickenham :) have'nt had much luck so far and time running out. Writing this on the tablet which seems to have a life of its own when it comes to typing. We had mince and mash for lunch I feel too full now. OH just pulled a squirrels tail as it was engrossed in eating peanuts it had not even seen him, it seemed quite shocked when it did and moved a bit rapid. Get some rest if you can Penny :) and take care all xx
