Yes, it is nasty here. A group of people, for Wycombe Homeless Connection, are sleeping out in Wycombe churchyard, being sponsored to raise funds. The woman I know best who is there, looks quite frail and I hope she will be OK. This is the coldest night of the year.
Trixie is being very cuddly, very often. If she sees my lap waiting, then I must forget about plans to get up and do this and that, but give her at least an hour. She lays with her face pressed into me like a baby and yet I remember at the time of adopting her, the lady said she is not much 'into' laps yet but give it time!! Did not take long.
Touch wood, the nasties have left her for, hopefully eight months or so.
'Busy' week next week. Monday, out with the coffee group from my old Keep Fit, who get together every 2 months. Tuesday, the weekly morning with 'Movers and Shakers'. Wed, wait in for the Ocado delivery (Oh the excitement) Choir practice in the evening. Thurs, out with the weekly group of 'coffee morning ladies' over 55, and Friday, lunch for ten of us at a new branch of Bill's Restaurants. When I retired 13 years ago I felt I didn't know many people........the thing is, one has to go out and find them or they find you. When I booked the Friday lunch, the manager asked 'Is it a Christmas party? I said no and added 'We are a reserved bunch of mature ladies' (fib) He said 'Madam, if they are all as lovely as you, it is our privilege' (his fib). The Christmas lunch I have organised is December 16th in Marlow.
