Singing at a double wedding of two sisters tomorrow. I do hope the weather clears up for them. Always feel so sorry for brides in the rain.

Morning Penny and all. So pleased the last couple of days visits to say goodbye are over and done with, all too sad to keep repeating in one week. Thanks Penny, your kindness much appreciated, doggie sending hugs too cos she feels the same. Hope the rain kept away Vannin, and you were in good voice for the occasion. Scones are very popular at this house too Penny, usually I make them in rounds using a sandwich cake tin, first cutting the rounds into pieces of 8 then make hole for a little jam, sprinkle with sugar and cook for 20min. I do not make the ordinary scones much, which are your favourites? Hope you are keeping your chin up Penny :) Vannin and all.

Hi Dita, so pleased your week is over. The scones are just fruity ones, with sultanans etc. Find these freeze very well. Take care and have a good weekend. cheers Penny

Morning Penny and all. It is a horrible rainy Sunday, unlikely we will have doggie walkies much to dirty outside for a very posh doggie, is sending you lots of hugs instead Penny :) Am watching news about Civic Cats droppings and cruelty in Indonesia in the making of the most expensive coffee in the world, I find it very distressing. I was going to do the Great North Run today but didn't fancy running in mi wellies so didn't bother. Do you watch boxing? we were watching it last night, just wondered if your hubby was interested. Hope you are feeling well, and keeping your chin up Penny :) and all.

Morning Dita and all, Very dull here but no rain as yet. Sunday paper not yet delivered, hubby going beserk. Trying to make him smile with trivia, he suddenly said, this time 54 years ago we were on our honeymoon and our first visit to Dorset, we spent the whole time on the beach and the weather was wonderful. What could I say. I was dumbstruck. Big hugs for doggie, not a very nice day for walkies. Much cooler for pussycats. No, I don't watch boxing, in fact, haven't been watching much of anything lately, all seems to be repeats .A voice has just called out, PAPER. so it has at last arrived. Catch you later, have a nice day. cheers Penny

Bet you were relieved, needless to say really. You are right about from repeats on the box, thats why he was watching the boxing. Hope he doesn't try practising on me, or I'll set the dog on him. :) She'll give him what for, will lend her to you, she'll sort him out.:)

Morning Dita and all, big hugs for doggie today, not raining but still a little cold. Kisses for pussies if any about. Very blowy here with a promise of more rain to come. Got browned off yesterday so made some little cup cakes, very nice too. Must make more of these. Hope all is well everywhere, looks as tho' autumn is here and very close to winter. Had the heating on yesterday for the first time for ages. Next will be hot-water bottles. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, Not a nice morning but so far rain has kept off. Out for lunch at the club today and then a visit to Costco to top up on bird seed. Big hugs for doggie, hope you get walkies before the rain today and kisses for pussies when about. Take care all and enjoy whilst you can. cheers Penny

Cannot understand what happened to my post yesterday.
Good morning Penny and all. Trying to remember what I told you yesterday. Oh! well never mind, know the cold weather was mentioned. It is still cold, got me thinking about winter duvet, do you use a hot-water bottle Penny? I still have mine for really really cold nights. Doggie sends big hugs this morning, she has enjoyed walkie this morning but the wind very nippy. Hope you enjoy your lunch today and trip to Cosco. I made a great big Victoria Plum crumble for tea yesterday, it was so yummy, we have plenty still left on tree, thinking about making jam, any advice in that area. Having a cuppa now, take your chin up Penny :) and all.

Just got back, I got soaked so decided to leave Costco until tomorrow as I have A Dr. appointment in the morning, will go from there. Lucky you with a plum tree. Hope jam turns out o.k. I used to get a lot from my hairdresser but since retirement have'nt had any. Been using those left in the freezer. If you don't use them all put them down for puds and jam later on. I do have water bottles. Not keen on central heating in the bedroom. Put a bottle in the bed for the last two nights. No point in being cold for the first half an hour. Take care and send me a taste of the jam. cheers Penny

I would be happy to give you some plums, but, how the heck can I get them over to you? Think they'll be in the freezer.

Noticed what I'd put by accident on my last post to you.
take your chin up.......should have read...keep your chin up :) :)

Hi, everyone. I'm back - completely exhausted, as predicted. I'm not cut out to be part of the jet-set, I think. Berlin was ... well, interesting, anyway. Much of it still looks like the eastern bloc, even though they've tried hard to pretty up all the concrete apartments with colour-washed exteriors and lots of window boxes. I love the way so many of the roads have trees growing along the side-walks and down the centre reservations; it makes a very green and pleasant city. The main visual ugliness comes from the graffiti everywhere - on buildings, trains, bridges, buses, etc etc. If you thought it was a problem in England, think again. British graffiti-vandals are rank amateurs in comparison.

The weather over there was quite warm and muggy so I couldn't believe how cold it is here. The lekky-blanket got switched on when I got home last night. Lucy's content to stay curled up in a warm corner now she's home from the cat-hotel. Does the cold kill off the mites, Vannin? If so, Trixie should feel much better soon. Fingers x-ed.

I've just made a vat of spinach & potato soup that'll do for lunches the rest of the week. Yum!
