Strange happenings on my P.C.

Postby mo » Fri Jan 07, 2011 8:39 am

For some unknown reason, I can't get a picture or windows on my desk top.
When I first log in, the picture and windows come up, but as soon as I go into a programme, I lose the desktop picture even when I come out of the programme.
I have to use one of the keys to get me into my desktop windows.
I have gone into the control panel and changed desktop background but it still won't bring up a picture, only at the very begginning after I have logged on.

Does anyone know what the cause of this is please?

I don't know the cause Mo,but have you tried systems restore to a couple of days ago when your machine was presumably working okay.

When things are not right the first thing to do is do a cold start if it is still there the next is systems restore.

Have you got a program like norton systems?

Yes I hadn't thought of that and usually I use that if anything goes wrong. Anyway one of my son in laws is going to have a look at it tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed he may get it sorted out.

Mo - Did you turn off and then turn back on your computer after the system restore? It might explain why it has reverted - after you shut down after your session and then booted it up again another day!
