We went to IKEA on Thursday - only the second time in ages (as the first time we said "Never again!")
However, we have moved bungalows and do not have the huge loft space we had before. The last one was wonderful, having loads of boards down and standing up space throughout. So, what to do with the Christmas tree, trimmings etc as well as other stuff like suitcases, etc.
Here, we do have a large 6' x 8' porch and IKEA is probably the best place for moderately-priced storage, so off we went.
We bought a very, very heavy, substantial wardrobe with loads of storage.
We had to fetch a trolley to collect it from the warehouse. Brian couldn't lift the three packages off the rack and needed a member of staff to do that for him. Then we waited in a long, slow checkout, followed by another queue to arrange delivery.
Does anyone know why we had to go through that whole rigmarole and why we couldn't just go in, choose the item, order and pay for it without having to physically handle the goods?
