Heavens, Viv. You don't do things by halves, do you? I'm sorry you've been going through such a tough and painful time but it's good that your local NHS now seems to have all its ducks in a row. The physio may well feel like the cure being worse than the disease at times but do persevere; physios generally know what they're about. :bighugs: Dear little Trixie - she obviously has the true cat knack of knowing when her presence is required. Bless her.

Marianne, I'm so pleased you have Tony back at last and glad you managed to get the care systems all slotted into place - even if you do have to get up early. (Keep your PJs on and go back to bed for an hour or two when Tony's gone off for the day).

We finally got the insurance company cheque today in settlement of our claim re the old house. I'll go and pay it in tomorrow and start chivvying OH to contact estate agents about the best way to proceed from here. No good me doing it because everyone knows that everything I do is bound to be wrong! Once that's sorted then, like Penny, we'll be laying out piles of cash to get this place fixed up. New windows and doors; external and internal repainting; new blinds and curtains; get the drive and paving repaired or replaced; etc, etc.

Maggieh, I hope your walking aid helps you as you get about. I think when people see you using something like that, they tend to be much more considerate than they are if you're simply moving slowly or stopping to rest. It's like a flag, indicating that a little patience or even assistance may be in order. As for Mr Short-of-the-bus-fare, that seems to be con of the month. I've been met with that request several times in the past three months and they've been all genders and ages. My usual response is along the lines of, "What a pity. You'll have to walk, then".

LK still making progress but refused the cat treat today until I mushed it up in a smidgen of her anti hairball malt paste. Hope that isn't going to become a daily game!

Hi, all. What an absolutely lovely day! Sunny and a bit breezy. All the flowering trees have suddenly burst into blossom (and given me hay fever!) and I've just brought in the first load of dried-outside washing of 2018. Smells fabulous, too :sunglasses: .
LK has spent most of the day sunbathing and sends sympathies to Dolly who will probably be expected to go out walking in the sunshine. LK is really glad she's not a dog!
Hugs to everyone who needs them :grouphug: and I hope the onset of spring makes the less well feel a little better.

Since last update, I have appointment for first physio session. Offered 8 a.m. today or 12 noon on 25th! So I said the 25th. No way of coping so very early! Also have apptmts at 'Lung, heart and stroke clinic' soon, then with the Haematologist next month and the Eye consultant in June to see about the laser surgery. The sunshine has helped the trips (no pun intended) into town but carrying anything more than a handbag makes the rib ache. I tried holding shopping under my arm but then the arm ached! Buses are boneshakers and I still take my soft scatter cushion to put between me and back of seat. I am not suffering after effects from the head injury.

It is a blessing to have most shopping delivered and, since this nuisance factor, have had Ocado deliveries each week - a big part of that is cat food, of course!

I wish everyone a good weekend , with, hopefully, more sunshine. I celebrated Easter late (Tuesday) when the family came and we had a lunch out to combine celebrating with a birthday or two. I wouldn't have wanted Charlie to see my face when it was all discoloured but there are just two bruises left now.

I hope Penny and Maggie and Dita will be thriving soon and the OH gentlemen who are not feeling too great, will soon have the smooth care service or the health appointments so long awaited.

Greetings, everyone.
What happened to spring? I understand that it's literally gone south and the likes of Maggieh and Twin are basking in sunshine while we huddle in our cardigans up here in the gloomy east midlands. Hope you're enjoying it, ladies. :sunglasses:
Not a lot going on here. It was too depressing to go anywhere so we tackled some much needed housework. First time for ages; that ruddy virus left me too wiped out to do anything that wasn't essential. We'll finish off tomorrow. Cleaning this house is a delight after the old one which was like painting the Forth bridge - endless. The old place used to get covered in black dust in the blink of an eye whereas it takes about a month for dust to become visible here. Something to do with construction methods and ageing wood, I suppose.

Viv, it's good to know you're feeling up to going out with the family after your accident and I do hope you continue to make good progress.
Best wishes to all, whatever you're up to.

Good morning everyone.Gosh what a change in the weather. Its meant to be sunny again today but its very dull looking.More like get your raincoat and brolly out.

Went to see Logan on Saturday as normal. Before I came home daughter in law told me that he may have chicken pox.She said had I had the shingles injection.Anyway by yesterday and this morning he is covered in spots. It is going round his school.I have read up on it so I have'nt got to rush to the drs for a injection.

I don't know if I will have him still on Thursday depends how he is.

Spent Sunday afternoon watching the commonwealth games. Those bikes frighten me when they are riding on the slant.Heart in mouth moments. :roflmao:

Have to go to the chemist today to collect my prescripton medicine.Think I will catch the bus its only 3 stops but I struggle with the hill.

Hope you are all keeping well as can be.Have a good day.

I have just come back from the local co-op,have opened the windows for some fresh air for these lungs of mine.

Got the estate agent doing a review on my flat next week, hate it every 6 months.Used to be yearly until a differant firm took over.

It is quiet in the forum lately, where are you Penny and Andere.Viv is 21 today so she may be busy celebrating her birthday.
