Hi everyone, pleased I have put a smile on your faces, really did amuse me and had an idea it would do the same for you. Sounds as if the Twin family needed a laugh after the day you have had, hope OH's tum is feeling easier and he can celebrate his BD today + a big hug for youTwin1947 :) Just having a giggle at what you wrote about folk from the South compared to us in Lincs Andere :) -----my son lives in Kent and they are more sneaky than us I do know--but I wouldn't say more law abiding -------That will set someone going :) hee haa. Take care everyone, big hug from Dolly Penny xxxxx :grouphug:

Julie Andrews Turning 79 – this is too real.

To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:

(Sing It!) – If you sing it, it's especially hysterical!!!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.
>>>>>>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>
(Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd
that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores. Please
share Ms. Andrews' clever wit and humor with others who
would appreciate it.)

Nah - nuffink you said! I think everyone's just living a quiet life in this miserable winter and doesn't have much to say. I know there's nowt going on here and it's hard to plan anything with these doom laden weather forecasts hanging over us.

I liked the clever Julie Andrews thing  and it amused all the friends I copied it to also. :bighugs:

Hi, everyone and greetings from the depths of winter. It's been so grey and cold today we haven't done anything or been anywhere, just stayed snuggled up at home. About an hour ago, it started snowing but appears to have stopped again now. Hoping for a decent day tomorrow so we can have a trip to Newark farmers' market and lunch somewhere nice. OH currently asleep in his recliner chair and pretending he's not; LK snoring in her igloo. Help! I'm the only one awake!!
Stay warm, everyone.

Hi, everyone from a deliciously bright and sunny corner of the world. It's one of those glad-to-be-alive days, cold but glorious :sunglasses: .No snow to be seen!

We made it to Newark but the farmers' market wasn't much to write home about (as my old dad would have said). A stall from a huge farm shop at Blyton whose stuff we've tried before - sausages and pies full of MSG (which should be banned imho), gammon so salty we couldn't eat it - so we gave that a miss; a lovely homemade bread stall so we bought a loaf because I like eating bread that I haven't made occasionally and a stall selling huge cartwheels of cheese but they were all things we didn't much fancy, with added fruit and spices, etc. There was a stall selling locally milled flours and porridge oats from a windmill so we bought some oats. Then we ended up going to a very nice butchery/deli shop and buying smoked cheese, pies, bacon, pickles and a few bits and coming home to make lunch with the nice bread. Not sure I'll bother going again!

I hope a decent night's sleep has helped you feel better Maggieh? (Plus the pills, of course) Enjoy your chish & fips!

PS. I've just spotted that Penny's online. Welcome back, stranger!!
