So cross. Put a long message on here and it got wiped. Having such probs lately feel like chucking it in the bin.........So

Morning Dita and all. Do hope Dolly is getting better, A big hug from me. Watched the boat race, quite good but so much time spent chatting all over the place got browned off. Felt really sorry for the girls, what a dreadful start. That poor girl who got her oar stuck is going to feel terrible for a long time. Can,t get the poor soul out of my head. I hope Carol had a good weekend. Do hope everyone else is OK too and ready to enjoy this new week. Weather is super so far, lovely and sunny and a beautiful blue sky. Take care. Cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, been to the vets because Dolly really poorly and has lost quite a lot of blood from the rear, phoned at 8.30 when they opened the live phone line and they gave me a time of 9.30am and we were there prompt, she has had 2 injections and I have antibiotic tablets to give her + a medicine to give with syringe, hopefully that will do the trick otherwise she will have to get x-rayed. I felt sorry for the girls too Penny, that poor girl so embarrassing for her. Sorry to hear about your lost message, I often copy before I send because it saves re-writing. Dolly needs that Hug Penny :) and take care everyone xx

I just popped on to say Hi.
We got back from Alvaston Hall this afternoon. It was a lovely break - only thing that spoiled it was rain on Saturday.
I really enjoyed The Overtones who were the star entertainment.
They sat two tables away from us at breakfast next morning but I was too shy to go over...

I'll be back later to read the threads.. :)

Hi all. An absolutely superb spring day here, all bright, sunny and breezy. Got the washing dried outside. Yippee :sunglasses: .

The plumber came at lunch time to look at our ancient boiler, sucked his teeth and said we'd be better off with a new one (I think we knew that!). He's gone away to prepare a quote. OH isn't keen on a combi ; I am because it makes sense to me to not have a great tank of hot water constantly there which we don't always use (and I could use the extra space in the airing cupboard, even though I s'pose it won't get so warm!)

Dita, I'm sorry your poor Dolly is so ill; that sounds horrible but let us hope the antibiotics do their work. Paws are crossed here for all of you. :bighugs:

Welcome back, Carol - glad you had a good time at the seaside.

Hi Penny the vet didn't know what it is, but did say there's some weird bugs around, and not been cold enough to kill them off this winter, thanks for your concerns you are a good friend to us both here and it is appreciated xx :grouphug:
Hi Andere , thanks to you as well, like you said hopefully the Antibiotics will work quickly and she will be back to her tail wagging sweet little menace again :grouphug:

Good morning all.
I'm hoping to go to my aqua fit class this afternoon and later pick Josh up from nursery.
I'm feeling a bit lazy after my weekend at Warner's - can't think why because I did nothing but eat & drink. I guess it must have been all the late nights & vodka/tonics...

Have a good day all. :)

Hello from here. It was lovely and sunny first thing but has now turned grey and a bit drizzly - probably because I planned to go out! Not going anywhere special, just a little shopping for essential bits and pieces.
Wondering how Dolly is getting on? Poor little scrap; you must be so worried but sending love and some get-well purrs from LK.

Hi Penny and all, Hello Andere your weather and ours match up perfectly today, as for Dolly she is still not well and I am just hoping she picks up over the rest of the day, yesterday she at least had a couple of drinks despite her tummy upsets, but today she has yet to have a drink and she needs water to stop her de-hydrating??? she is on antibiotics and a liquid to stop her being sick, and she has not had tum prob since last night but things at the moment far from right and just hoping and praying for her to come out of her bed and at least have a drink. Will keep you posted Andere & Penny-----when she pops in :) and of course LK a special hug. Not really much else to talk about at the moment, hugs from us both :grouphug: , take care and thanks for your kindness xxxxxx :bighugs:

Hi Dita and all, back from lunch. Keeping fingers crossed for Dolly along with a big hug. Daughter popped in last night with her car which OH is getting sorted and then he took her home. She is off to Tenereef? in the morning . Took her car to see if we could get new tyres fitted whilst we were out but so busy have to go again in the morning. Then in the afternoon take it for a check over or whatever you call a car check. Hope everyone is O>K> and with weather not too bad. Very dull here. Take care. cheers Penny

Hello to all on a lovely sunny day. Dita I hope the cat improves quickly my pets were all dogs but know from them how worried you must be. Andere stick out for the combi boiler if I had to go back to a system where there wasn't immediate hot water when I turned on a tap I would weep. Carol I'm so glad you both enjoyed your break but when did you turn shy? Penny I looked at today's quiz with the best of intentions but didn't know any of the answers. I am now going to wash the lunch dishes and sit in the sun in the conservatory for an hour with my book.

Dita, I am so sorry poor little Dolly is ill and hope you are seeing improvement today. We feel it for our pets and TLC is such a big part of the cure - which I am sure she is responding to.
