Do you take your mobile phone to bed?

Postby caroljoyce » Fri Jul 14, 2017 6:43 am

I do - I use it as an alarm clock.

At 2.30am this morning I was woken from a deep sleep by a text message coming through. It was from a friend and totally unimportant. I guess she didn't realise it would wake me up.

I think I'll have to get myself a proper alarm clock and leave the mobile in another room.

It just got me wondering if other people take their phone to bed. :?

I always do, think of it as another means of emergency contact, and if I wake up early I can check news/emails and weather before getting out of bed,

Mine is usually by the bed but it's permanently set to be on Quiet between midnight and 07:30 so I don't get woken by random texts and such.

I have it within reach, for emergency purposes, as I don't wear my alarm pendant in bed.

However, only my son has the number and I can't remember the last time he called.

I very often dont go to bed once I get comfy on the recliner. This is because with having broken both hips and having pins in them I have to lie on my back all the time and when in the recliner it helps to raise me if I have to keep visiting the loo.
The pin I have had put in my left hip has snapped and my hip has never healed so cocking my legs up to get on the bed can be very tricky at times especially if I am having much aggro with the pain. My mobile phone is on my trolley that I have to use to get around with just i case I have to phone my family for anything. I also wear a Lifeline alarm on my wrist in case I need paramedics.
