A fallacy surely?

Our constitution is such that the monarch must be succeeded by the eldest child of the monarch.

There is no provision for skipping a generation. Even if the he/she is totally unfitted to rule a Regent is appointed, not another monarch.

Of course, it should be borne in mind that the sovereign must be succeeded by th3 eldest son (it can be daughters in the future, but not at present).

As I have pointed out before, while it would never be officially talked about, if Charles pre-deceases the Queen then Andrew becomes heir, and we eventually end up with Queen Beatrice!

I think many folk would like to see Charles and his former mistress out in the wilderness particularly after their appalling treatment of Diana.

Personally, I would refuse to bow/curtsey to either one of them as I have zero respect for the disgusting couple and feel it would be far more appropriate if they were the ones being deferential.

after their appalling treatment of Diana.

Diana did very well out of that marriage.

She could have ended up totally sidelined like the Duchess of York, but wisely she was given enough rope, with the traditional result.

If Diana had wanted a quieter life as she stated in that TV interview,(And she could have done like Princess Anne)...She would be alive today...But no,she had to behave like a twenty year old celebrity and take up with an Arab playboy.

There are plenty of single rich businessmen with private estates, islands and yachts where she could have had privacy away from the Paparazzi.
