Smacking?

:whut:

A recipe from the Daily Mail Weekend magazine is "Salt and Pepper Tofu with Smacked Cucumber Salad

Apparently, you smack it with a rolling pin, of all things, ...... not so much a smack as a thrashing I think!
What a strange place the world of cookery has become!

Monika. Funny but whenever I make a sandwich for myself I always like to thump it with my fists so that it is squashy. Somehow it tastes better.

Funny you should say that, mo. Brian and I were talking of our childhood and both of us remembered the taste of tomato sandwiches which we took on picnics when we disappeared for the day and remarked how lovely they were after being wrapped up and squashed on their journey/ Lovely!
