Flu jab next month, then the pre-winter electric blanket check (and free slipper exchange!) and the Winter fuel allowance, followed by the ceilidh put on for us by the local churches nd school.

So the mad frenzy of Christmas activities begins!

First though, the shops will fill up with the Halloween tat. The American influence is strong. On Facebook, one of my young American contacts was saying they were dusting off the ghost apparition now it is Halloween season. I responded 'But it is barely September. Do you celebrate before 31st October there?' She replied that the season starts with the Fall!!

I actually belong to another forum where any mention of the C word before Nov 30 is automatically deleted!

However, in this context I had little option as I flatly refuse yo use PC terms like winterfest!

Got to use it cause I love Christmas and all the preparing for it. I am going to start painting scenes to print off as Christmas cards for my friends and family.
I love it just as much as my Summer holidays.
