Happy Birthday Andere. I hope it's been a good one.

Thank you all for your good wishes.
Because of the chaos we're currently living in, I'd already decided this is going to be one of the years when I have an Official Birthday and will celebrate properly after I go home. So yesterday was marked with a Lidl coffee cake with the mid morning coffee and lots of phone calls from friends, which was lovely.

Then the day took a turn for the worse when the repair man told me the tumble dryer which has been giving trouble, needs a new condenser. They don't appear to be available any longer for this model so it looks like a new one for the new house ...

However, the really surreal thing happened at bedtime when OH used the downstairs loo and the cistern literally broke in two, dumping water all over him and the bathroom and leaving half of itself and all its works still attached to the pipe. Fortunately, he was able to turn the water supply off and is even now trying to contact his plumbing acquaintance to come and replace the thing. The tank was an old plastic one and we can only assume it suffered from 'plastic fatigue'. Sometimes, it feels as if I'm living in a very bad sit-com!

Oh dear Andere, I can't help smiling at these predicaments. Are you sure the next resident isn't Frank Spencer, moving in early?

Oh Andere have just been reading and replying on Good morning thread then reading what you have put on here is from bad to worse situation, must laugh at the fact your OH had a surprise shower though hee hee. Take care things could be worse xx
