Furious with Hermes.
I had ordered two identicle duvets and cover sets by mistake and was told I could send one back so I thought as soon as the post arrives I would ask them to return it saving me time as this was in a very large box.

The doorbell rang and as I got to the door I found the big parcel sitting on my doorstep and the Hermes driver and van were nowhere in sight.
Bearing in mind I have sciatica, I had managed to rush to the door as best I could.

What if I had been out and someone had stolen the box?

Best way is to complain, just in case he does it and loses something else? Cheers Penny

I have a notice on my door that if I'm not in to leave it in the greenhouse.
One delivery man was off down the garden path before I had time to answer the door. He put the parcel on my arbour seat.

How could he not know what a greenhouse is?

So annoying though aye Carol. There must be loads of people who make out that they haven't received their goods. No one could prove otherwise if they didn't sign for anything.

I am perhaps fortunate that I have a porch.

I have a permanent notice displayed asking to be allowed extra time because of disability, or to leave parcels in the porch.

Only twice in five years has this not worked.

But showing a notice asking for parcels to be left somewhere is surely as bad as having them left on your doorstep.

My greenhouse notice is on the back door.
Only family & delivery people come round there so I think it's reasonably safe.

No. They don't get wet, and neither the no tice or the left parcels are visible from the gate. I get three or four parcels a week, and couldn't possibly stay in (or even get up") for all of them.

Cant you contact the company you order from and ask them to tell their courier to give you more time to answer the door before going off, tel them you are disabled and cant get to the door quickly, also arrange with them a place where they can leave to parcel/s if you are out
